As public adjusters, we take our mission seriously. It is our duty to help property owners protect their investments all year long. 

Hurricane Preparedness

Thankfully, Texans did not suffer from any catastrophic hurricanes in June. But we must always remain vigilant and prepared for them.

On June 9, Chris Rich gave a hurricane preparedness talk covering Disaster Contingency for the Galveston County Apartment Association. The luncheon was held at Gaidos Seafood Restaurant in Galveston that we co-sponsored with Century A/C.

The Build Expo

Chris, Joe Lewis, and David Moore attended the Build Expo show in Houston, TX on June 9! It i's one of the most exciting conventions for home and commercial builders in the state. Everyone was thankful to be socializing again. 

Roof Construction Presentation

On June 15, construction estimator Mark Merdian presented information on commercial construction's top 5 flat roof systems.

With 18 years of experience in construction, combined with his experience in the public adjusting industry, Mark delivered practical steps on how to spot hail damage and what to do if there is pushback on your insurance claim.

This presentation was co-hosted by Luis Esteves, who interpreted the information that Mark provided. It was a great learning opportunity for newer members of our team who now have a better understanding of the relationships between estimators and adjusters.

Field Training Exercises

On June 16, our construction estimators Mark Merdian and Greg Jackson, held a field training exercise. In an industry that balances construction costs, new technology and economics, continuous education is always the key! 

But field training was not the only event that day. 

The 45th Annual Texas Roofing Conference hosted by RCAT

Regional VP, Brook Boswell visited the 45th Annual Texas Roofing Conference hosted by the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT). We were proud to be Gold Sponsors of this event!

The BOMA Expo

On June 24, Joe Lewis and Regional VP Russ Stewart attended the BOMA Expo. They said it was great to run into so many old friends!

Luis Esteves Honored in Forbes Council (again!)

And last but not least, Luis Esteves was featured in a Forbes Council article for the second time. He discussed a vital issue for hurricane season and encouraged commercial real estate owners to invest in a risk manager.

Our team is proud of everyone who works so hard to make sure property owners have the knowledge and tools to protect their investments. 

Moving forward in the second half of 2021, we pledge to continue our work with professional organizations, roofers, and construction professionals. We are eager to supply more thought leadership articles and internal workshops — all geared towards benefiting the insured.
